There is a lot of talk out there about the
environment. Some say it is a hoax while others say the sky is
falling. What does it really mean? Well it all comes down to how
people interact with others and the amount of compassion they
can show a stranger. Right now I would say for most people this
is dismal. Thus we have a stinking planet full of polluters trying
to make their fortunes while convincing the masses, who buy into
it when their lead is pulled, that this is a moralistic right.
When people want to improve quality of life , they rarely look
past the bathroom mirror. I say all this as I look out my window
to view the cars idling away in a line up for the car wash.
This is the Coal burning plant outside Datong
in the Shanxi province of China. The roads are thickly laden
with coal about a centimetre deep and I couldn't see more than a
kilometre in any direction. In fact I couldn't see the city and
was unsure of which direction to head in. Now try and imagine
riding along Highway 99 in Surrey and not being able to see
Surrey, Richmond, Ladner, Vancouver, or the North Shore
mountains.
